Orthotics & Prosthetics

WTRC orthotists custom fabricate external support for the spine, and for upper and lower extremities (arms and legs) required in the treatment of a variety of illnesses and injuries ranging from such things as spina bifida, strokes (CVA), and polio, to scoliosis and foot, ankle and knee injuries. Additionally, they fabricate cranial helmets for infants and children as prescribed by a referring physician.

Our prosthetists custom fabricate artificial limbs for those who have undergone amputation of an arm or leg. The type limb fabricated is  responsive to the patient’s expected level of activity and can range from a basic prostheses to complicated microprocessor artificial limbs.
