8th Annual Rehab Top Gun Sporting Clays Classic

The largest clay shoot ever held in Abilene, Texas occurred on Saturday, March 27, 2010 and benefitted the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. A record number of shooters, 304, participated in the 8th annual Blake Fulenwider Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep REHAB TOP GUN Sporting Clays Classic held at Abilene Clay Sports. This new number bested the previous record set two years ago when 263 shooters participated in the REHAB shoot.

Besides being the largest number of shooters ever, a number of other records were set according to Dan Huggins, Director of Donor Relations at the REHAB. Huggins says the total amount raised from the shoot was over $93,000...again, setting a new high mark. A record number of sponsors contributed to the financial success of the shoot. And finally, a record number of volunteers, 124, gave of their time to help make the shoot a success.

The Top Guns for the event, those with the highest scores, were Russell Griffin with a 91 in the morning rotations, and Sonny Seale and Chad Dodson with 89’s in the afternoon. Eight other individual shooters won Browning Gold shotguns in random drawings. Slim Herman won the Browning Citori 525 shotgun in the raffle drawing.
